Holy Crap it’s November
Morning folks, and here’s your midweek update…
Tracee’s birthday went off without a hitch, and now I’m married to a 30 year old. My jokes about trading her in for a younger model at dinner weren’t taken well by Lindsey, who thinks we now have marraige problems. (She also thinks we fight a lot. I’m assuming her exposure to married couples has been minimal.) But we had a fun evening with her and Braswell at the Buckeye Restaurant in Mill Valley, despite paying heavily not only at the eatery, but the next morning when the red wine came back to say hello. Oof. Bought her an iPhone for her birthday, which she seems thrilled with, but me less so. Cause, y’know, obviously now I want one. But hey, my birthday’s next week, so stay tuned…!
House hunting hasn’t been going so well. We hit 4 open houses over the weekend, all of them busts. Two in San Anselmo – both of which were tiny, with miniscule yards (on very steep slopes, so no room for addition), and two in Terra Linda. One of them would need a lot of upgrading to it (new windows, new appliances, new kitchen, new floor, redo the closets, and tear out the backyard and start from scratch), while the second had no living room. (Okay, it did, but it’s literally smaller than our couch.) So no big winners – but we stay hopeful that some place will pop up that fits the bill.
Work’s been work – annoying and mundane, but so goes non profit work this time of year. At least the draft of the directory is done (thank Christ for that) so can go into the long weekend somewhat relaxed. We’re off up to the cabin for it, for the family work weekend. I’m feeling rather guilty, since with my busted arse shoulder I won’t really be able to do anything, but it’ll still be nice to be out of the apartment and away from the everyday.
Toodles.
