Yeah, it’s me…
Yeah yeah, so I haven’t written anything in a while. Um, close to six months in fact. So a wee catch up…
Basically, everything revolved around the whole wedding thing. Lived, ate, breathed it up until last month, when we finally got hitched. Hooray!
I’m back riding to work on a regular basis. This makes me very happy, and I’m feeling pretty good about it. While I’m still a wee fatarse, my fitness is creeping back to acceptable levels. Still haven’t been off-road in a WHILE though. Not at all this Spring, as the schedule hasn’t allowed it. I wanted to get out there last weekend (the one before Memorial Day) but ended up having to do a bunch of other crap instead. Not happy. The inlaws are in town at the moment, which shot the Memorial Day weekend to hell, but this coming weekend, I wanna get out SOMEWHERE.
The sucky thing is that Michael’s gone. Yep, off to Alaska. I miss him and Lori to bits, and I now need to find a new riding partner that has a flexible schedule, and can put up with me. I really miss riding with the MORE crowd, back when I lived in VA and had much easier trail access – this whole having to drive an hour to get to reasonable trail shit is for the birds.
This is going to be changing at the end of the summer for sure. Tracee has started sending in job applications for business administration positions in the Bay Area, and we’ve set a date of September 1 for the move – it might be later, might be earlier, it depends. But now that the wedding’s out of the way, that’s the new goal to work towards. Trail access is one of my criteria for the househunt that will follow.
Been obtaining parts for the 29er singlespeed too – I figured that now I’m under the thumb of a woman, I’d better get the parts amassed now, before she takes control of my wallet fully and permanently!!! Hubs and rims arrived today from the helpful gang at Speedgoat. Now I just need to find someone to lace ‘em together for me…
So that’s about it. For now at least…
